GET INVOLVED

“GIS Advisory focus areas are Project Management - Fundraising - Land Acquisition - Community Accreditation and Monitoring & Evaluating of township projects.”

Global Impact Social Outreach organizes volunteers to schools in need within communities whether it’s the refurbishing of a library, donating soccer balls, or assisting with food at schools. Volunteers play a key part in the success of all projects. We put volunteers to work, we want them to get their hands dirty and to see the results of their accomplishment.

YOUTH WORKSHOPS

The youth in South Africa are our future and we hope to do more projects with them in the future. A past project which proved successful was hosting a photography for change workshop, inviting youth from various townships to partake. We definitely have budding photographers in our country and we plan to initiate a more permanent programme with creativity amongst our youth.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS TRAINING

An essential skill in society today is being able to have skills on a computer. This does not mean to be able to code or be a computer engineer, but it is important to empower, especially women, with a new and much needed skill. The skills the women are taught are aligned with Microsoft office, word, excel and PowerPoint.

COMMUNITY FEEDING SCHEMES

What is better than a full tummy? It is important to remember that not everyone is privileged enough to have a warm meal at the end of the day. We do not only focus on our projects, but the broader community that the projects are based in. It’s not just about projects but caring for the community members and assisting where we can. Corporates and donors will always support a worthy initiative.

CELEBRATIONS

What child doesn’t love a celebration or to be spoilt at special times of the year?
Most of these children we encounter don’t receive presents on Christmas and they don’t get Easter eggs at Easter time. It is a special thing to see the joy on a child’s face as they receive those Easter eggs and Christmas presents from the Easter Bunny and Father Christmas himself.

VOLUNTEER PROGRAMMES

With the pace of our lives, it can be hard to find a time to volunteer. However, there are many benefits of volunteering,
for the volunteer as well as the causes they support.
Volunteering offers fundamental help to people in need, worthwhile causes, and the community.
As a volunteer the benefits can help you to find friends, connect with the community, learn new skills……
According to studies given, in even a simple way, to others can also help protect your mental and physical
health. It can reduce stress, combat depression, keep you mentally stimulated, and provide a sense of purpose.
While it’s true that the more you volunteer, the more benefits you’ll experience, volunteering doesn’t have to involve a
long-term commitment or take a huge amount of time out of your busy day, it’s about balance and paying it forward.
Volunteers play a key part in the success of all projects. We put volunteers to work, we want them to get their hands
dirty and to see the results of their accomplishment.

ACADEMIC BURSARIES & OUTINGS

Bursaries afford many underprivileged children the access and opportunity to better education.
Without assistance from an outside source, many children would not be able to attend school at all, let alone
afford the school fees.

In South Africa, many impoverished families are struggling to pay for their children’s education. Love to Langa
understands that parents who have passed on or are unemployed are desperate for scholarships for their children.
Love to Langa has partnered with pre-schools in the townships to provide the much-needed assistance with school fees.

Outings give students educational experiences away from their regular school environment. The children also learn in a
more hands-on and interactive manner than they do in school. These trips give the children a welcome break
from routine. Outings Love to Langa has sponsored include the Walk with Dinosaurs show, a ride on a Big
Red Bus, Clay Café, Adventure Farm and a visit to Robben Island are but a few.
