Love to Langa is a US based non-profit organisation, which has been operating in Cape Town, South Africa for 10 years supporting and initiating successful, and sustainable projects within the townships. The head office is located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in the USA. Since the organization's inception, the registered non-profit has grown from strength to strength working with communities and empowering countless men, women and children annually.
Love to Langa CT office was registered and incorporated in early 2019 to solidify the US based Non-Profit Company (NPC) in the SA Market. It has evolved from a Non-Profit Company to a Public Benefit Organisation with clear rules and guidelines in place as to how we on-board and assist projects, with our main focus and mission is to empower: 1.)Leadership within impoverished communities, and 2.) provide Children with the tools to learn.
While Apartheid is no longer the rule of law in South Africa, its effects and the resultant limited opportunities afforded to many along racial and socioeconomic lines are still apparent throughout many of the country's townships. Where the unemployment rate is over 25% and the level of entrepreneurial activity is among the lowest in the world, an innovative and accelerated pathway to higher education and professional success is imperative. Research has shown that many children within the townships are lacking the necessary skills for success when Entering Grade 1. Research also shows that students who perform below grade level by 3rd Grade are five times more likely to drop out of school, which further limits their opportunities for success. Therefore, we see a Montessori school as not only an innovative education model but a hub for empowerment and productivity and success, and our biggest project yet!
